Holiday Greetings to all,
Thats Kayla and her main squeeze Jordan, they have been together for 1 1/2 years and are planning for a long "togetherness" to come.
WOW...we had a Rich and Rita trip to Grand Rapids this morning to see the surgeon. What a challenge, I am just thankful that John drove (he was very careful) and for my 4 wheel drive truck...that baby is great on bad roads!!!
I was bracing myself for a big yelling at from Dr. Borreson, BUT he did not yell at me, just gave me the "eyes" that speak louder than words. I was informed that I am WAY over doing it. I am not even supposed to be at work yet. Definitely not working 8 1/2 to 9 hours a day. He also informed me that if I cut down my working to what he thought I would be doing (the 4-6 hours per day) my pain level will start to ease. Apparently, I am in so much pain cuz' I am doing too much. He also gave me a few hints on how to control the pain....when to take what meds and how much of them. Of course, John is sitting right there saying "I told you so" over and over again. I felt a bit ganged up on but held my own by reassuring Dr. Borreson that I would only work 1/2 a day on Wednesday and take Thursday off both this week and next. Got a big laugh out of that one with a pat on the back and a "try to take it easy my fun loving all giving go-getter" and a take it easy on your days off kiddo. Funny how well Dr. Borreson knows me. But I will start to sloooowwww down as much as I can. Not an easy feat for a go-getter. At least I reassure Dr. Borreson that I have not start running yet. He said no walking for exercise until after January 22. YIKES can I make it that long with out a good walk or run. Some one tie her shoe laces together please.
Rich got great clinical results from the tests done on Monday. Hopefully soon the meds will be able to be reduced. He also found a way to help reduce some of his pain....he needs to hold a pillow or towel firmly against his incision especially when sneezing or coughing. It hurts like mad when you sneeze or cough, I am speaking from many a tearful sneeze. He should also take more pain meds to help keep it under control. Learn to love that EXTRA STRENGTH TYLENOL my friend. It will be your best friend...I speak from experience.
Please continue to pray for both of us, for our medical staff and for a blessed Christmas for all.
Blessings to all,
Ingrid
