December 13

Greetings to all,

WOW! Poor Rich having to endure more tests and all the pain that he is in. Let's keep praying that his body does not reject the kidney and that all will begin to work again as it did right after the transplant surgery. My heart is aching for both Rich and Rita as they are going through all of this, but as Rita said to me "God led you to giving this wonderful working kidney to Rich...now he has to take over and begin to use it the way it worked in you." I just love them both so much and keep praying for peace, comfort and healing to come to them real soon. John says God led you to give Rich a kidney, honey, he did not say that there would not be a hiccup or two along the way. I love his insight.

I am still in pain and have discovered that I am allergic to vicodin....not a real good thing after major surgery....it gives me this major migraine headache which leads to me wanting to throw up....a really bad thing when they mess with your stomach muscles. But have no fear....darvacet is on the way....if that doesn't work then it is extra strength Tylenol. Neither Rich nor myself are allowed to have motrin, Advil or aleeve for at least 6 months after the surgery.

You know where the Bible talks about all those dry bones....well they are all connected to the stomach muscles. Just ask Rich he will confirm this. You can't blink, move your toes or wiggle your ears without it using some kind of stomach muscles.

Please continue to pray for Rich and Rita that the results will be positive from the further testing, for a speedy recovery for all and for our families.

p.s. Brianna's finger is still a big pain in her hand....it is really getting in her way of texting and instant messaging and facebooking....but her mean old parents (that would be us!) are making her keep the brace on, so added prayers for her please. We will see how things go tomorrow at Volleyball....she is coaching again and it is not her HARD hitting hand so we may be OK.

Love and Blessings to all,

Ingrid

Hi Ingrid,
You are a funny writer! :) Glad to hear you're home. I hope your pain gets better (I mean less!) each day.
Someone at church told me they heard the DJ's on 99.3 JQ talking about you and Rich and this whole transplant! Pretty cool!
Take care of yourself.
Love,
Shirley
