DAY 8
Well, everything seems to have a hiccup at times and we are going through one of those now. Rich was scheduled to go home on Friday, but woke up with more pain then he had been experiencing and to the fact that his creatnin levels had gone up instead of down.

Creatnin is one of the levels they have to monitor so see how well the kidney is working. In this case it should be going down.

When someone receives a transplant, the body looks at it as a foriegn object in the body and tries to fight it off. Thanks to our wonderful modern medicine, they have a number of ways to trick the body into not looking at the transplant as foriegn. They have reassured me that what he is going through is not unusual and that at this point they just need to figure out what it will take to "trick" his body. Thankfully this was found before he was released and sent home.

They have just taken him down for a kidney biopsey, and an x-ray which will help them to determine what is going on with the kidney.

We are so greatful to Ingrid for what she has done, and for the fact that she is healing as well as she is. Hopefully her pain will soon be gone.

Please continue to pray for everyone involved and especially for the doctors as they now try ty figure out the "trick" that will work for Rich.

We love all of you and appreciate your prayers more then you know,
Rich and Rita.

Hi Rita,
So sorry to hear about the difficulties and scares. Post something when you get a chance. We're all hanging on every word wondering how you both are and about the results of tests. Love you and we're praying...
